*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Toledo Bend Reservoir, straddling the Louisiana–Texas border, experiences pronounced seasonal variation in surface water temperature. In summer months surface readings commonly reach about 80–90°F (27–32°C), making the upper layer comfortably warm for recreational use. During spring and fall the surface typically ranges roughly 55–75°F (13–24°C) as the lake warms or cools, while winter surface temperatures often fall into the 40–60°F range (4–16°C). Deeper water remains noticeably cooler than the surface, particularly in summer, with thermoclines that can be 10–20°F (6–11°C) lower than surface readings depending on weather and depth.
Swimming in Toledo Bend is allowed and is a regular recreational activity, especially during the warmer months at public parks and campground shorelines. That said, many shoreline areas are not lifeguarded, and hazards such as boat traffic, submerged brush, fluctuating water levels, and sudden drop-offs exist. Cold winter water increases hypothermia risk, and warm stagnant conditions can affect water quality in some coves, so local advisories and park rules should be observed. For safe swimming, choose designated park swim areas when available, be aware of temperature-related risks, and check current conditions before entering the water.
