*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Lake of Lemont Heritage Quarrys is a former quarry basin that fills with groundwater and runoff, producing clear but often cold water. Seasonal surface temperatures typically run from near freezing in winter—around 32°F (0°C) when ice forms—up through spring values of roughly 40–60°F (4–16°C). In summer, the surface can warm to about 70–80°F (21–27°C) on warm days, though deeper water remains much colder, often 40–50°F (4–10°C) even in midsummer because quarries are deep and thermally stratified. In fall the lake cools back toward 50–60°F (10–16°C) before icing again.
Swimming at Lemont Heritage Quarrys is generally not permitted as these quarry lakes are managed for recreation and conservation rather than as supervised swim areas. Restrictions reflect safety and environmental concerns: steep drop-offs, submerged rock and equipment, sudden cold depths that can cause cold-water shock, and the absence of lifeguards make unsupervised swimming hazardous. Additionally, local management often limits swimming to protect water quality and sensitive habitats. Visitors are advised to follow posted rules, enjoy shoreline views, fishing or nonmotorized boating where allowed, and not swim unless explicit, site-specific permission and facilities are provided.
