✅ As of today, the minimum water temperature is above 82°F (28°C). This is very warm water, which may feel almost hot to most people. Swimming in such conditions is perfect for those seeking relaxation and comfort in the water. These waters are often preferred for relaxation in hot weather, as the water temperature does not cool the body significantly. However, it is important to remember that in such warm waters, caution is necessary, as prolonged exposure without rest can lead to overheating. ** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Kissimmee, a shallow, spring-fed lake in central Florida, experiences noticeable seasonal swings in surface water temperature that affect swimming comfort. In winter months surface temperatures commonly fall into the mid-to-upper 50s and low 60s °F (about 14–17 °C), while spring warms the water into the upper 60s to upper 70s °F (roughly 20–26 °C). Summer brings the warmest conditions, with typical surface readings in the high 70s to around 90 °F (26–32 °C) and occasional short-lived peaks above that during heat waves. Autumn generally cools back to the low 70s to low 80s °F (22–28 °C). These values refer to surface temperatures; deeper or shaded areas can be several degrees cooler.
Swimming in Lake Kissimmee is generally permitted at public access points and within parts of Lake Kissimmee State Park, but there are few if any lifeguarded beaches and conditions vary. Swimmers should be aware of natural hazards such as submerged vegetation, boat traffic, fluctuating water clarity, algal blooms, and the presence of wildlife including alligators, all of which can prompt temporary advisories or closures. Because of these factors, many people choose to swim in the lake during late spring through early fall when surface temperatures are most comfortable, while always observing posted notices and exercising sensible precautions.
