*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
#Leicestershire
Cropston Reservoir in Leicestershire typically has cool water throughout the year. Seasonal surface temperatures range from about 4–8 °C (39–46 °F) in winter, through roughly 6–14 °C (43–57 °F) in spring, to peak values of around 14–22 °C (57–72 °F) in summer, before falling back to 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) in autumn. Because the reservoir is partly shaded by surrounding woodland and influenced by weather, surface temperatures can change quickly and are often lower than those at more exposed lakes on warm days.
Swimming is generally not permitted at Cropston Reservoir because it forms part of the local drinking-water supply and access to the water is restricted for water-quality and safety reasons; there are no lifeguards and cold water and underwater hazards pose risks. Visitors instead use the area for walking, birdwatching and photography. Nearby attractions include Bradgate Park with its open moorland and deer, Swithland Wood, and the trails of Charnwood Forest, which offer a range of alternative outdoor activities close to the reservoir.
