Blakytne Lake (Blue Lake), located in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast region, is an artificial body of water (often a flooded quarry) and one of the most popular summer recreation spots in the area. Thanks to this, the water temperature here is favorable for swimming throughout the summer season. Although quarries can be deep and the water at depth remains cool, the shoreline and upper layers warm up very well. In July and August, the water temperature at the beaches usually ranges from 22−25∘C, creating ideal conditions for swimming. The season for comfortable swimming starts in June and lasts until September.
The swimming opportunities at Blakytne Lake are excellent and typically well-organized. The reservoir attracts a large number of visitors, so there are often both paid and free beaches with developed infrastructure: sand, sun loungers, cafes, and safe entry into the water. However, it is worth remembering that, as in any quarry, the depth can increase sharply. Nevertheless, the equipped areas guarantee safe swimming.
