Shakhtarske, located in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, lies in a typical steppe landscape dotted with small ponds and quarry lakes that formed around former mining and industrial zones. These artificial reservoirs have become popular recreational spots for locals, especially in summer when the air temperatures often exceed 30°C.
