*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
In Mykolaiv, where the Pivdennyi Buh River runs through the city, water temperatures in summer months often reach cozy levels for swimming in shallow, slower-flowing parts — typically between 22-26 °C during July and August. Earlier in summer (late May to June), temperatures are more moderate, around 18-21 °C, so swimming is possible but feels cooler. As autumn approaches, the river cools relatively fast, dropping toward 15-18 °C in September, and by late autumn much cooler, making swimming less comfortable.
Swimming in the Pivdennyi Buh within Mykolaiv is popular in calm sections along gentler banks, especially where there’s sandy or grassy shore access. However, there are caveats: currents can be strong in some stretches, and after heavy rains water clarity often drops (more sediment, possible runoff). Also, water quality and safety can vary depending on upstream activity. In general, for casual bathing in summer, many locals find it enjoyable, especially on warm sunny days, but long exposure in cooler waters or under uncertain conditions should be approached with caution.
