*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
In Burshtyn, located in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, the main body of water is the Burshtyn Reservoir, formed on the Gnyla Lypa River. The reservoir serves as a cooling pond for the local thermal power plant, which keeps the water warmer than in natural lakes or rivers in the region. Even in early spring, temperatures here can reach around 15–17°C, while in summer the water often warms up to 25–28°C or more. This makes it one of the warmest large reservoirs in western Ukraine, especially appealing for those who enjoy early-season swimming.
Although part of the reservoir is used for industrial purposes, many sections along the opposite shore are suitable for recreation. Locals often swim, fish, or sunbathe near the calmer bays and sandy stretches. The water quality varies depending on proximity to the power station, but in general, the open areas away from discharge points remain clear enough for bathing. The warm water, gentle waves, and wide views across the reservoir create an atmosphere reminiscent of a southern lake rather than a mountain river.
