** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Manavgat Dam (Manavgat Barajı) in Antalya forms a sizable reservoir whose water temperature follows the Mediterranean seasonal cycle but is moderated by depth and river inflow. Typical winter temperatures range roughly from 8 to 12 °C (46 to 54 °F), while spring sees a rise to about 12 to 20 °C (54 to 68 °F) as air and inflow warm. In summer, surface waters commonly reach around 20 to 28 °C (68 to 82 °F), and in unusually hot spells shallow bays can approach or exceed 30 °C (86 °F). Autumn cooling is gradual, with temperatures often between 15 and 22 °C (59 to 72 °F). Local variations occur depending on weather, water release from upstream, and sheltered versus exposed parts of the reservoir.
Swimming at the Manavgat Dam reservoir is generally discouraged and in many cases officially restricted because the site is managed for water supply, irrigation and flood control rather than recreation. Safety concerns such as steep or muddy banks, sudden depth changes, submerged structures, cold deep water, and the absence of lifeguards make unsupervised bathing hazardous. Although people sometimes enter shallow, protected areas in warm months, authorities typically advise against it and local rules or signage should be consulted before attempting to swim.
