*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Bolu province, set in Turkey’s inland highlands, hosts a number of small mountain lakes and fast-flowing rivers whose water temperatures remain relatively cool year round. Surface temperatures in lakes such as Abant, Gölcük and the Yedigöller group typically range from about 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) in winter to roughly 12–22 °C (54–72 °F) at the warmest points of summer, with spring and autumn values often between 4–12 °C (39–54 °F). Rivers fed by springs and snowmelt are colder and more variable: winter temperatures near freezing are common, spring runoff yields 4–12 °C (39–54 °F), and summer highs in sheltered stretches may reach about 8–18 °C (46–64 °F) before cooling again in autumn.
Swimming opportunities are therefore limited by both temperature and conservation or safety rules. Many of the well-known lakes lie inside protected park areas where bathing is discouraged or officially prohibited to preserve water quality and habitats; in addition, cold water and strong currents in rivers increase hypothermia and drowning risks and there are few designated lifeguarded sites. In warm summer spells locals sometimes wade or swim in calmer sections, but formal, safe swimming spots are uncommon and visitors should heed local regulations and seasonal conditions.
