*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Kongsvinger (Norwegian: Kongsvinger) sits in Innlandet County beside the Glomma and several smaller lakes. Seasonal surface temperatures in these inland waters typically range from close to freezing in winter to comfortable bathing values in summer. In late winter and early spring lakes are often near 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) and may be ice-covered. By late spring temperatures rise to roughly 6–12 °C (43–54 °F). The warmest months, July and August, commonly see surface temperatures around 16–22 °C (61–72 °F), though sheltered or shallow spots can warm slightly more. Into autumn the water cools back to about 8–14 °C (46–57 °F).
Swimming is generally allowed in Kongsvinger because Norway’s public right of access (allemannsretten) permits people to use most shorelines for recreation, and many locals swim in both lakes and the Glomma in summer. Official bathing areas and beaches are maintained at some spots, but water quality and conditions vary, so swimmers should heed local signage and avoid fast currents or areas with sudden depth changes. Winter ice swimming is practiced by some but requires solid ice, safety equipment and experience; casual attempts on thin ice are unsafe.
