*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Córdoba (Spanish: Córdoba) sits inland in Andalusia, surrounded not by natural alpine lakes but by reservoirs and river sections that create local bathing spots. Surface water temperatures in these lakes and reservoirs follow a clear seasonal rhythm: in spring (March–May) temperatures typically range from about 14–20 °C (57–68 °F), rising in summer (June–August) to roughly 20–28 °C (68–82 °F) and occasionally reaching around 30 °C (86 °F) during heat waves. Autumn (September–November) sees a gradual cooling to roughly 16–22 °C (61–72 °F), while winter (December–February) brings the coldest surface waters, commonly 6–14 °C (43–57 °F) and sometimes dipping to about 4–6 °C (39–43 °F) in colder spells.
Swimming is possible in many of Córdoba’s reservoirs and in designated bathing areas, and popular spots such as Embalse de Iznájar have informal beaches used by locals and visitors. Whether swimming is allowed depends on local rules: some reservoirs permit bathing where water quality is monitored and safety measures are in place, while others restrict access to protect drinking-water supplies or because of hazards like submerged obstacles and strong currents. River sections of the Guadalquivir can be unpredictable and are less suitable for casual swimming. Always check local signage, seasonal water-quality reports and safety provisions before entering the water.
