*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Săcele (in Romanian - Săcele) sits at the edge of the Southern Carpathians and is drained by mountain rivers and a few small reservoirs and ponds rather than by large lakes. Typical river temperatures in the area are low: winter near freezing, about 0–4 °C (32–39 °F); spring roughly 4–10 °C (39–50 °F) as snowmelt runs off; summer commonly 12–18 °C (54–64 °F) in faster, shaded stretches and occasionally up to 18–20 °C (64–68 °F) in slow, shallow pools; autumn cools back toward single digits. Small still water bodies and artificial ponds warm more in summer, often ranging 18–24 °C (64–75 °F) on warm days and falling to near 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) in winter when ice forms.
Swimming is therefore seasonally possible but limited. Formal supervised beaches are rare around Săcele, so most swimming is informal and concentrated in the warmest months when ponds or calm river sections reach tolerable temperatures. Authorities may discourage bathing in fast mountain rivers because of cold shock, currents, variable water quality and lack of lifeguards. In winter ice and very low temperatures make bathing unsafe. Anyone choosing to swim should judge local conditions, respect posted restrictions, and be aware of hypothermia and swift currents in mountain waterways.
