*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Drammen, in Norwegian Drammen, is a city in the former Buskerud County positioned where the Drammenselva meets the Drammensfjord, and it is also surrounded by smaller inland lakes and ponds. Water temperatures in these local lakes vary markedly with the seasons: in late spring lakes commonly range from about 4–12 °C (39–54 °F) as snowmelt and cool springs dominate, in summer typical swimming temperatures are roughly 16–22 °C (61–72 °F) and can occasionally reach 24 °C (75 °F) in shallow, sheltered spots on hot days. Early autumn waters usually cool to 10–15 °C (50–59 °F) and by late autumn into winter many lakes fall to 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) and may freeze over.
Swimming around Drammen is generally allowed and popular in summer, supported by public access rights and designated bathing sites maintained by municipalities. Authorities promote swimming at supervised beaches and marked areas because rivers and fjord channels can have strong currents, variable depths and boat traffic, while lakes may experience algal blooms in warm weather or poor visibility after heavy rain. Water quality is monitored locally, and seasonal advisories or lifeguard services determine the safest times and places to swim, so following posted guidance is recommended.
