*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Nokia, located in the Pirkanmaa region of southern Finland, lies between several freshwater bodies, including Lake Pyhäjärvi and the Kokemäenjoki River. These waters are part of the larger Kokemäenjoki system that flows westward toward the Gulf of Bothnia. The local water temperature follows the seasonal rhythm typical of Finnish inland lakes and rivers. After the ice melts in late April or early May, the surface temperature remains low at around 4–7 °C (39–45 °F). During early summer, it warms to 13–16 °C (55–61 °F), and in July, the warmest month, the temperature in the lakes around Nokia usually reaches 18–22 °C (64–72 °F). Shallow, calm bays may briefly exceed 23 °C (73 °F) on hot days. By late September, the temperature drops below 10 °C (50 °F), and the lakes freeze again in November.
Swimming in Nokia’s lakes and rivers is allowed and very popular during the summer. The water is generally clean and suitable for bathing, and the town maintains several public beaches and swimming areas. The calm sections of Pyhäjärvi and the Kokemäenjoki provide safe conditions for swimming and other water activities. The combination of clean water, moderate warmth, and scenic surroundings makes Nokia a pleasant destination for summer recreation.
