*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Pori, located in the Satakunta region of western Finland, lies along the lower reaches of the Kokemäenjoki River, which flows into the Gulf of Bothnia. The river is wide and slow-flowing in this area, and its temperature varies seasonally according to Finland’s temperate climate. After the ice breaks in April, the water temperature remains cold, around 4–6 °C (39–43 °F). By early summer, it warms to 13–16 °C (55–61 °F), and in July, the warmest month, the Kokemäenjoki in Pori typically reaches 18–21 °C (64–70 °F). Shallow sections and side channels may occasionally exceed 22 °C (72 °F) during heatwaves. From late September onward, the water cools below 10 °C (50 °F), and winter freezing begins again in November.
Swimming in the Kokemäenjoki River is allowed but usually limited to designated areas where the current is safe. The city of Pori maintains official swimming spots and recreational areas along the riverbanks, especially near Kirjurinluoto and other central parks. The water quality is generally good during summer, and on warm days, the river provides a refreshing place to swim or cool off. Due to currents and depth, swimming is recommended only in marked or supervised areas for safety reasons.
