Prachatice is a historic town located in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic, surrounded by rolling hills and forests that contribute to a picturesque landscape. While the town itself does not lie directly on a major river, there are several nearby ponds and small reservoirs where locals and visitors can enjoy swimming. During the peak summer months of July and August, water temperatures in these ponds generally reach around 20–23 °C, which is comfortable for swimming, wading, and other light water activities. The calm waters and gentle banks of these smaller bodies of water make them particularly suitable for families and casual swimmers.
Swimming in and around Prachatice is mostly informal, as there are few developed beaches or large public swimming facilities.
