*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Asparuhovo (Аспарухово) is a neighborhood of Varna situated on the shores of Lake Varna and close to the Black Sea. The lake is relatively shallow and seasonally influenced, so surface water temperatures typically range from about 2–6 °C (36–43 °F) in winter, rise to roughly 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) in spring, warm to around 22–26 °C (72–79 °F) in the height of summer, and fall back to roughly 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) in autumn. Sheltered bays and shallow areas warm faster and may exceed the general summer range on hot days, while cooler, deeper channels remain noticeably colder.
Swimming in the lake is physically possible and commonly done by locals in warmer months, but it is less formally regulated than the nearby Black Sea beaches. There are typically no lifeguards or marked bathing zones on many lake shores, and water quality can vary after heavy rains or local discharges; authorities sometimes issue advisories or temporary restrictions for health reasons. For these reasons, people choose supervised public beaches for safer, regularly monitored bathing, while lake swimming is often undertaken at one’s own discretion with attention to local notices, water clarity and boating activity.
