Water Temperature Trends
Dagestan, located on the southwestern coast of Russia, along the Caspian Sea, experiences a semi-arid climate with hot summers and mild winters. The water temperature in the Caspian Sea near Dagestan varies significantly throughout the year. In the summer months, from June to August, the water temperatures typically reach 24°C to 28°C (75°F to 82°F), making it pleasant for swimming and other water activities. The warm temperatures make the Caspian Sea a popular destination for beachgoers during this period.
As autumn approaches, the water begins to cool down. In September and October, the temperature of the Caspian Sea drops to around 16°C to 22°C (61°F to 72°F), providing a milder experience for those still willing to swim. By November and December, the temperature continues to fall, reaching around 8°C to 12°C (46°F to 54°F), which marks the end of the swimming season.
During the winter months, from January to March, the water temperature in the Caspian Sea can drop to between 5°C and 8°C (41°F to 46°F). The cooler water temperatures make swimming less appealing, but the mild winter climate of Dagestan allows for other forms of recreation. As spring arrives, the water gradually warms up again, beginning to rise from April to May, although it stays relatively cool, around 10°C to 15°C (50°F to 59°F), before reaching its peak in summer.
