*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Yağlıdere is a mountain-fed stream in Giresun, Turkey, whose water remains noticeably cool through the year. Typical seasonal surface temperatures range from about 2–6 °C (36–43 °F) in winter to roughly 6–14 °C (43–57 °F) in spring as snowmelt and rains raise flows. In summer the warmest stretches may reach about 12–20 °C (54–68 °F) during prolonged calm periods, while autumn sees temperatures falling back toward 8–14 °C (46–57 °F). These figures vary with elevation, recent precipitation and shading from vegetation; sudden storms and snowmelt can produce abrupt drops in temperature and faster currents.
Swimming in Yağlıdere is possible in isolated, sheltered pools during the warmest weeks, but it is not widely practiced or recommended as a general recreational activity. Cold temperatures even in summer can increase risk of hypothermia, and the stream’s steep gradient and rocky bed create strong currents, submerged hazards and rapidly changing conditions. Local authorities or landowners sometimes restrict access for safety or conservation, and anyone considering entering the water should assess flow, temperature and legal permissions, and take appropriate safety precautions.
