Melet Irmağı, running through the Ordu province on Turkey’s Black Sea coast, shows marked seasonal variation in water temperature. In winter months the river commonly drops to around 4–8 °C (39–46 °F), reflecting cold regional rainfall and snowmelt. Spring temperatures typically rise to roughly 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) as air temperatures warm and flows moderate.
