*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Murat River (Murat Nehri) in the Elazığ region is a mountain-fed watercourse whose temperature reflects seasonal runoff and reservoir influence. Typical winter temperatures are close to freezing, often around 0–5 °C (32–41 °F). During spring, snowmelt and higher flows keep the water cold, roughly 4–12 °C (39–54 °F). In summer, shallower, slower stretches and backwaters can warm to roughly 15–24 °C (59–75 °F), though main channels and areas below dams often remain noticeably cooler. In autumn the river generally cools to intermediate values, about 8–16 °C (46–61 °F). Local weather, altitude, depth and releases from hydroelectric facilities (such as reservoir operations) can shift these ranges by several degrees.
Swimming opportunities on the Murat River exist in calm, sheltered banks and reservoir edges during the warmest months, but many stretches are unsuitable or unsafe for bathing. Strong currents, sudden cold discharges from dam releases, submerged rocks and limited rescue access make some sections hazardous; in places authorities may prohibit access or post warnings. For those considering swimming, it is advisable to use designated, monitored spots where available and to check local guidance, as permissibility and safety depend on location and seasonal conditions.
