** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Küçük Menderes (literally “Little Meander”) is a lowland river in the İzmir region whose water temperature varies notably through the year. Typical seasonal surface temperatures range from about 8–12 °C (46–54 °F) in winter, rise to 12–18 °C (54–64 °F) in spring, reach roughly 20–26 °C (68–79 °F) in summer, and cool to about 14–20 °C (57–68 °F) in autumn. These figures are approximate and can shift with rainfall, upstream releases for irrigation, and local weather: shallow, slow-moving stretches warm faster in hot months, while deeper or shaded pools stay cooler.
Swimming in the Küçük Menderes is generally not encouraged across much of its course. Reasons include variable water quality affected by agricultural runoff and urban discharge, fluctuating depths and currents, and submerged debris or infrastructure from irrigation works that create safety hazards. Local rules vary, so some rural or estuarine spots near the Aegean may see informal bathing when conditions look clean and calm, but public authorities and environmental groups often advise against recreational swimming except where water quality monitoring explicitly confirms safety.
