** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Göksu Nehri (Göksu River) in Mersin province is fed from Taurus Mountains and flows to the Mediterranean, so its water temperature varies with season and flow. In winter the river commonly drops to about 6–10 °C (43–50 °F) in exposed stretches, while spring sees a rise to roughly 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) as snowmelt and rains increase discharge. Summer temperatures in lower, slower reaches can reach about 18–26 °C (64–79 °F), especially in shallow pools and near the delta, and autumn typically cools back to roughly 12–20 °C (54–68 °F). These ranges depend on weather, recent rainfall and exact location along the river; mountain-fed upstream sections are usually colder than downstream reaches.
Swimming is possible in many parts of the Göksu, particularly where the flow slows and pools form, but it is not uniformly recommended everywhere because of variable currents, hidden depths, and seasonal flow changes that can make conditions hazardous. Water quality and access are also mixed; some areas near settlements are used for recreation, while the Göksu Delta is an ecologically sensitive zone with nesting sea turtles and protected habitats where restrictions or local rules may limit swimming to protect wildlife and visitors. Always observe local signage and exercise caution.
