*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Garigliano, a river in the Abruzzo region, tends to show the temperature patterns typical of mountain-fed Italian rivers: cold in winter, cool through spring and autumn, and only moderately warm in summer. Typical seasonal surface temperatures often range from about 4–8 °C (39–46 °F) in winter, rise to roughly 8–14 °C (46–57 °F) in spring, reach around 18–24 °C (64–75 °F) in the warmest summer months in sheltered or slow-flowing stretches, and fall back to approximately 10–16 °C (50–61 °F) in autumn. Local conditions such as recent rainfall, snowmelt, shade from canyon walls, or shallow sun-warmed pools can produce variations from these averages.
Swimming in the Garigliano is possible in many accessible, calmer reaches and natural pools, and local people often bathe there in summer when temperatures are highest. However, it is not universally permitted everywhere along the river: restrictions can apply in protected areas, near dams or industrial sites, on private land, or where signage forbids access. Even where swimming is allowed, caution is advised because currents, submerged hazards, sudden depth changes, and variable water quality can present risks, and formal lifeguard services are generally absent on rural river stretches.
