*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Tingstädeträsk is a small inland lake on Gotland whose water temperatures follow the island’s temperate Baltic climate. During winter the surface can approach freezing, typically around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), while spring sees a gradual rise to roughly 4–12 °C (39–54 °F). In midsummer the lake often reaches its warmest, commonly between 16–22 °C (61–72 °F) and occasionally a few degrees higher during heat spells. Autumn brings cooling again, with temperatures generally falling to about 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) before winter refreezes shorelines. Because the lake is relatively shallow compared with larger inland waters, it can warm up faster in sunny weather but also cool and stratify quickly when conditions change.
Swimming at Tingstädeträsk is generally allowed and practiced by locals when temperatures are comfortable, particularly in summer months when water commonly exceeds 16 °C (61 °F). Swedish access rights (allemansrätten) permit public entry to most shorelines, but swimmers should respect private property and any posted restrictions. As with any natural waterbody, suitability for swimming depends on water quality and safety: local or municipal advisories may warn against bathing during algal blooms or after heavy rain, and shallow or weedy areas can affect comfort and visibility, so checking current conditions beforehand is advisable.
