*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Nutimik Lake, located in the Whiteshell Provincial Park in Manitoba, is a popular lake known for its beautiful scenery and recreational opportunities. Like many smaller, northern lakes, its surface water temperature experiences a comfortable warming trend during the warm summer season. In the peak summer months, surface temperatures generally reach a suitable range for swimming, typically peaking between 20∘C and 23∘C (68∘F to 73∘F). Conversely, the winter months bring freezing conditions, with temperatures dropping to the range of 0∘C to 5∘C (32∘F to 41∘F), leading to a thick layer of ice.
Swimming is widely permitted and encouraged at Nutimik Lake, with the Provincial Park providing a designated beach area that confirms it is a primary recreational activity. The lake is generally clean and clear, making it attractive for water contact. However, like nearly all beaches in Manitoba's provincial parks, Nutimik Lake Beach is non-staffed, meaning there are no official lifeguards on duty. All swimming is therefore done at one's own risk. Furthermore, as the lake is part of the Winnipeg River system, water levels can fluctuate, and the beach is routinely monitored by the Province of Manitoba for water quality, with advisories sometimes issued for elevated E. coli levels.
