*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Témiscouata, located in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region of Quebec, is a long, narrow freshwater lake surrounded by forested hills and small communities. As one of the largest lakes in the region, it experiences distinct seasonal changes in temperature influenced by the province’s continental climate. In early spring, following the ice melt in April or early May, the surface water remains cold, averaging around 39–45°F (4–7°C). By late May and June, it warms to about 52–61°F (11–16°C). During midsummer, from July through August, the lake reaches its warmest period, with surface temperatures typically ranging between 66–73°F (19–23°C) in shallower bays, while deeper areas remain cooler at around 59–63°F (15–17°C). By late September, temperatures drop again below 57°F (14°C) as autumn arrives.
Swimming in Lake Témiscouata is allowed and very popular, especially within Parc national du Lac-Témiscouata, where beaches and recreational areas are well maintained. The lake’s clear, clean water and gentle shorelines create ideal conditions for families and casual swimmers. During midsummer, the water becomes comfortably warm for long swims and boating activities, while the scenic surroundings enhance the experience. The best swimming season extends from late June through early September, when both air and water temperatures provide the most pleasant and safe conditions for outdoor recreation.
