*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Lake Neuchâtel is the largest lake located entirely within Switzerland and is known for its broad, shallow shores. These characteristics influence water temperature noticeably. In winter, surface temperatures usually fall to about 4–6 °C (39–43 °F). During spring, the lake warms steadily, reaching roughly 10–15 °C (50–59 °F). The warmest period is summer, when July and August typically bring temperatures of around 20–24 °C (68–75 °F), and in hot years short peaks near 25 °C (77 °F) are possible. In autumn, cooling is gradual, and the lake often remains above 15 °C (59 °F) into late September.
Swimming in Lake Neuchâtel is fully allowed and very popular. The water quality is high, and the gently sloping shores create favorable and safe conditions for recreational swimming. Numerous public beaches and natural access points make the lake attractive for families and casual swimmers. Thanks to its shallowness, the lake warms relatively quickly in summer, offering comfortable conditions throughout the main bathing season.
