*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Falcon Lake (Falcon International Reservoir) in southern Texas experiences fairly warm surface temperatures compared with more northern U.S. lakes, but they vary by season and weather. In winter the surface will often cool to roughly 50–65°F (10–18°C). Spring warming commonly brings temperatures into the mid 60s to upper 70s Fahrenheit (about 18–27°C). Peak summer surface temperatures typically reach the upper 70s to low 90s°F (around 26–33°C), while autumn sees a gradual decline, often resting in the low 70s to mid 80s°F (21–29°C). These numbers fluctuate with wind, inflows, depth and seasonal rainfall; deeper or shaded areas remain cooler than shallow, sun-exposed coves.
Swimming at Falcon Lake is generally permitted in many public recreational areas, but there are practical cautions. There are few if any lifeguarded beaches on the reservoir, and boat traffic, sudden drop-offs, submerged structure and vegetation can create hazards. Water quality can also vary, so local advisories or posted signs should be consulted before entering the water. In short, swimming is allowed in designated or commonly used spots, but visitors should exercise standard lake-safety practices, check conditions ahead of time, and be mindful that temperature and safety can change quickly.
