*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Clearwater Lake, located in western Manitoba north of The Pas, is one of the province’s clearest and deepest freshwater lakes. Known for its striking turquoise color and excellent visibility, the lake is spring-fed and remains cool throughout much of the year. In early spring, after the ice melts in May, the surface temperature averages around 37–43°F (3–6°C). By late May and June, as air temperatures rise, the lake warms to about 50–57°F (10–14°C). During midsummer, from July through August, surface waters in sheltered bays can reach 63–68°F (17–20°C), while deeper areas remain much colder, often below 55°F (13°C). By late September, the temperature steadily declines again to around 52°F (11°C) or lower as autumn sets in.
Swimming in Clearwater Lake is allowed and enjoyed during the summer months, particularly within Clearwater Lake Provincial Park, where beaches and campgrounds provide easy access to the shore. The water is exceptionally pure and refreshing, though noticeably cooler than in Manitoba’s shallower southern lakes. Most visitors prefer short swims or wading close to shore on warm, calm days. The best time for swimming is from late June through early September, when surface temperatures and air conditions are most comfortable, offering a unique experience in one of Canada’s clearest natural lakes.
