*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Clear Lake, the central feature of Riding Mountain National Park in Manitoba, is a large, deep lake that becomes quite popular for swimming due to the region's warm summer weather. The water temperature experiences a comfortable seasonal swing. In the peak summer months, from late July through August, the surface water typically warms up enough for recreational swimming, generally reaching a high of 20∘C to 23∘C (68∘F to 73∘F), though deeper areas remain cold. In the winter, the water cools dramatically, dropping to the range of 0∘C to 5∘C (32∘F to 41∘F), and the lake is completely frozen over.
Swimming is widely permitted and encouraged at Clear Lake. The most popular and safest spot is the sandy beach at the townsite of Wasagaming, which often features buoyed swimming areas to keep swimmers clear of boat traffic. As the lake is within a national park, the environment is pristine, and swimming is a core recreational activity. However, there are no official lifeguards on duty at the public beaches, meaning all swimming is done at one's own risk. Visitors should be cautious of the rapid drop-offs into deep water and the potential for strong winds, which can quickly create large waves and make the water hazardous.
