✅ As of today, the minimum water temperature is above 82°F (28°C). This is very warm water, which may feel almost hot to most people. Swimming in such conditions is perfect for those seeking relaxation and comfort in the water. These waters are often preferred for relaxation in hot weather, as the water temperature does not cool the body significantly. However, it is important to remember that in such warm waters, caution is necessary, as prolonged exposure without rest can lead to overheating. It is important to note that these swimming tips and recommendations apply only in good weather. *** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lakeland, located in central Florida between Tampa and Orlando, is famous for its many freshwater lakes such as Lake Hollingsworth, Lake Morton, and Lake Parker. The area’s humid subtropical climate keeps water temperatures mild to warm throughout the year. In winter, local lake temperatures generally range from 15–19 °C (59–66 °F), remaining comfortable compared to most U.S. regions. During spring, the water warms to around 20–25 °C (68–77 °F), and by midsummer, surface temperatures often reach 27–31 °C (81–88 °F). Shallow areas can feel even warmer during long periods of sunshine. In autumn, the water gradually cools again to about 20–24 °C (68–75 °F), maintaining suitable conditions for aquatic recreation.
Swimming in Lakeland’s lakes is allowed in certain areas and is most enjoyable from April through October, when the water feels comfortably warm. Popular spots, such as Lake Hollingsworth and Lake Parker, are often used for paddling and wading, though many residents prefer managed swimming areas or pools for safety. The lakes are generally calm and pleasant, but swimmers should remain cautious about water quality, wildlife, and changing weather conditions. Outside the warmest months, the water remains mild but less inviting, while the city’s lakes continue to attract visitors for boating, fishing, and scenic walks year-round.
