The city of Worcester is a major crossing point on the River Severn, which flows directly past its historic centre and famous cathedral. The water temperature in this section of the river fluctuates seasonally, reaching its highest points during the late summer months (July and August), where it can range from approximately 17 to 21∘C (63 to 70∘F).
