Kastamonu (in Turkish - Kastamonu) is a province with a mix of mountain-fed rivers and small lakes whose temperatures vary markedly by season and by waterbody. In winter surface temperatures in rivers and shallow lakes commonly approach freezing, about 0–6 °C (32–43 °F).
