** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Çaygören Dam, located in Kütahya province, is a relatively small inland reservoir whose surface temperatures follow the region’s continental seasonal pattern. In winter the water commonly falls to around 2–6 °C (36–43 °F) at the surface, while spring warming brings typical surface values near 8–16 °C (46–61 °F). In summer the shallow upper layer can reach roughly 18–26 °C (64–79 °F), and during autumn the surface usually cools to about 10–17 °C (50–63 °F). These figures are indicative: actual temperatures vary with recent weather, wind, depth, inflow from rivers or snowmelt and reservoir operations, and deeper layers remain colder year-round due to stratification.
Swimming at Çaygören is generally discouraged and in many reservoirs is formally restricted by local authorities for safety and water-management reasons. Risks include low winter and spring temperatures, sudden thermoclines and underwater hazards such as submerged structures, strong currents near the dam or intakes, and variable water quality when the reservoir serves irrigation or drinking-water purposes. Where local signs or regulations explicitly permit recreational bathing, summer surface temperatures may be comfortable; otherwise visitors should assume swimming is not allowed and follow posted rules to avoid safety and environmental problems.
