** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Ankara (in Turkish - Ankara) sits on a high central Anatolian plateau and its inland lakes and reservoirs, such as Mogan, Eymir and Çamlıdere, experience marked seasonal temperature swings. Surface water in these shallow lakes typically drops near freezing in winter, roughly 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), warms through spring to about 4–15 °C (39–59 °F), and reaches its peak in summer around 18–26 °C (64–79 °F) depending on depth and exposure. Rivers and small streams in the Ankara basin are generally cooler and more variable: winter values often hover close to 0–6 °C (32–43 °F), spring and autumn commonly range 6–14 °C (43–57 °F), and even in summer many reaches stay between 10–20 °C (50–68 °F) because of flow and shading.
Swimming opportunities in and around Ankara are limited and conditional. Many urban lakes and reservoirs are subject to local regulations, water‑quality issues (nutrient loading and occasional algal blooms) and designation as drinking‑water catchments, so swimming is often discouraged or explicitly prohibited; where informal swimming occurs it is mainly during warm summer months when surface temperatures are in the upper teens to mid‑20s °C (mid‑60s to upper‑70s °F). Rivers are less commonly used for bathing because of colder temperatures, variable currents and safety concerns.
