** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
In Lerum municipality, inland water temperatures in lakes and rivers follow the seasonal pattern typical of western Sweden. In spring (April–May) surface temperatures are usually low, around 2–10 °C (36–50 °F) as snowmelt and cold runoff keep waters cool. During summer (June–August) many sheltered lakes and slow-flowing river stretches commonly warm to 16–22 °C (61–72 °F) and can reach 24–25 °C (75–77 °F) in shallow bays or during hot spells. In early autumn (September–October) temperatures typically fall back to about 10–15 °C (50–59 °F). In winter most open freshwater areas approach freezing, commonly 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), and ice can form on lakes and slow rivers.
Swimming in Lerum’s lakes and rivers is generally permitted and commonly practised; Sweden’s public right of access means there are no broad bans on entering most waters unless explicitly signposted. Municipal bathing sites exist and authorities monitor water quality at popular beaches, but conditions vary: currents and depth make river swimming riskier than calm lake bays, and water quality can drop after heavy rain. Cold water and the possibility of ice in shoulder seasons are the main safety concerns, so swimmers should choose supervised or well-known spots, check local water-quality notices, and be cautious about currents, temperature shock and underwater hazards.
