*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Capua, located in the Campania region of southern Italy, lies along the Volturno River, one of the longest rivers in southern Italy. The river originates in the Matese Mountains and flows into the Tyrrhenian Sea, passing through fertile plains and gentle hills. The water temperature of the Volturno varies according to the season and altitude. In winter, it averages around 6–9°C, rising to 12–16°C in spring. During the summer, especially near Capua where the flow is slower, the water temperature reaches 22–26°C, making it relatively warm for a river of mountain origin. In autumn, it gradually cools again to around 14–18°C.
Swimming in the Volturno River near Capua is possible but not widely practiced. The water is generally calm in this section, yet its quality and flow can vary depending on rainfall and agricultural use. On the hottest summer days, locals occasionally swim or wade in shallow areas, although most prefer nearby lakes or coastal waters. The riverbanks, surrounded by greenery, offer scenic spots for relaxation and fishing rather than typical bathing areas. The Volturno remains an important natural feature of Campania, appreciated more for its landscape and ecosystem than for recreational swimming.
