*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Narva (Estonian: Narva) sits where the Narva River meets Estonia’s coastal and lake systems, most notably close to Lake Peipus. Surface water temperatures in the nearby lake vary strongly by season. In spring the lake typically runs cool, around 2–10 °C (36–50 °F) as ice melts and runoff continues. Summer brings the warmest conditions, with common surface values of 18–22 °C (64–72 °F) and occasional warm spells pushing sheltered bays to about 24 °C (75 °F). By early autumn temperatures commonly decline to roughly 5–12 °C (41–54 °F), and in winter the lake approaches freezing, often near 0–1 °C (32–34 °F) where it freezes over.
Swimming in the lake area is permitted seasonally, and recreational bathing is most common in the warmer months when surface temperatures are comfortable. Local authorities and municipalities usually designate bathing beaches and monitor water quality; closures can occur for elevated bacterial counts or during ice cover for safety reasons. Cold-water risks such as hypothermia and cold shock make swimming outside the warm season hazardous even where technically allowed, so swimmers are advised to use marked beaches, heed local advisories, and avoid open-water swimming when temperatures are low or water quality warnings are in effect.
