*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Westerlo is a city in the province of Antwerp, Belgium, located along the Nete River. The water temperature in the Nete River fluctuates throughout the year, with the coldest temperatures in winter and the warmest in summer. During the summer months, the water temperature typically ranges from 15°C to 20°C (59°F to 68°F), which may be acceptable for swimming in the calmer sections of the river. However, swimming in the Nete River is not a common activity, as the river flows through both urban and rural areas, which can affect water quality. Pollution from agricultural runoff, urban waste, and industrial sources can impact the safety of the water. Therefore, despite the water being warm enough for a swim in some areas, the quality of the water may make swimming unsafe. In the winter months, the water temperature drops to between 4°C and 7°C (39°F and 45°F), making swimming dangerous due to the cold and stronger currents.
