** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Suså, Zealand’s longest river in Region Zealand, has water temperatures that vary noticeably through the year. In winter the river commonly drops to about 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), often close to freezing in cold spells. Spring temperatures typically rise to roughly 4–12 °C (39–54 °F) as meltwater and warming air raise flows. In summer the Suså is usually in the range of about 14–22 °C (57–72 °F), with shallow, slow-moving stretches warming most and occasional heatwaves pushing local spots toward 25 °C (77 °F). Autumn cooling brings temperatures back toward roughly 8–14 °C (46–57 °F) as daylight and air temperatures decline.
Swimming in the Suså is generally allowed and commonly practiced, since Danish waterways are open for public access, but conditions determine suitability. Many stretches are calm and shallow enough for bathing, yet other sections have stronger currents, dense vegetation, boat traffic or nearby agricultural runoff that can affect water quality. There are seldom lifeguards, so swimmers should choose sheltered spots, be mindful of depth and flow, and heed local signs or landowner restrictions. Seasonal algal growth and runoff after heavy rain can temporarily reduce water quality, so local advisories and common-sense precautions are recommended.
