*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Spui River is a tidal river in the Netherlands, located in South Holland and flowing between the islands of Voorne-Putten and Hoeksche Waard. Because of its tidal nature, the Spui’s water temperature varies depending on the season and time of day. In the summer, the water temperature generally ranges from around 15°C to 20°C (59°F to 68°F), which may be comfortable for some swimmers, while in winter it can drop significantly, often to around 5°C to 10°C (41°F to 50°F). The river's tidal currents also influence the water, causing frequent shifts in water flow and temperature.
Swimming in the Spui is generally not recommended due to the strong tidal currents and lack of designated swimming areas. The water's tidal flow can create unpredictable conditions, and even experienced swimmers might find it challenging. However, the river is popular for boating and fishing, as the currents attract a variety of fish. Those who choose to swim should be well-informed about the tides and exercise caution, ideally staying close to the shore and avoiding the river’s stronger currents.
