The Körös River in eastern Hungary is a calm and scenic waterway that plays an important role in local recreation. Its water temperature varies strongly with the seasons: in spring it can still be quite cool, around 12–16°C, while in the height of summer it often warms up to 22–25°C, and during hot spells even higher. These warm conditions in July and August make the river inviting for swimming in certain areas where bathing is permitted.
The Körös is popular not only for swimming but also for canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. Along its banks there are designated bathing spots, often with gentle entry points and grassy areas for sunbathing. However, as with most rivers, water quality and currents can change depending on weather and rainfall, so safe swimming is best enjoyed in marked or supervised sections.
