*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Crati (Italian: Crati) is Calabria’s longest river, rising in the Sila plateau and flowing to the Gulf of Taranto; its water temperature varies widely by season and by reach. In the cool, high-altitude headwaters temperatures commonly sit between about 4–12 °C (39–54 °F) through much of the year. In lower, slow-moving stretches and during summer the river can warm considerably: typical seasonal ranges are roughly 5–10 °C (41–50 °F) in winter, 8–16 °C (46–61 °F) in spring, 18–26 °C (64–79 °F) in summer, and 12–20 °C (54–68 °F) in autumn. Local conditions such as recent rainfall, shading, and depth influence those numbers, so spot measurements may differ from the averages above.
Swimming does occur in parts of the Crati and is permitted in many informal spots, especially where the flow is gentle and access is easy, but there are no uniform rules along the whole river. Safety and water-quality considerations are important: strong currents, variable depths, submerged hazards and occasional pollution or agricultural runoff make some stretches unsuitable for bathing. Local signage, municipal guidance or seasonal monitoring should be checked before entering the water; where conditions are calm and water quality is confirmed, the river offers a pleasant freshwater alternative to coastal swimming in summer.
