*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Elbistan in Kahramanmaraş is an inland plain with small rivers, streams and a few irrigation reservoirs rather than large lakes. Water temperatures in these freshwater bodies vary with the continental climate. In winter surface temperatures commonly fall to about 0–6 °C (32–43 °F). Spring sees a gradual rise, roughly 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) as snowmelt and rains feed streams. In summer the warmest conditions occur, with many calm reservoirs and slow river sections typically reaching about 18–24 °C (64–75 °F). Autumn temperatures generally cool to around 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) as air temperatures drop and flow increases.
Swimming is physically possible mainly in the warmest months when surface temperatures are in the high teens to mid‑20s °C and conditions are calm, but there are few formal bathing beaches or lifeguarded sites in Elbistan. Many water bodies are managed for irrigation or are downstream of dams, so access can be restricted and currents or sudden releases pose hazards. Water quality in some channels can also be variable after rains or agricultural runoff, and cold spring or autumn waters can lead to rapid loss of body heat. Local rules, signage and seasonal conditions determine whether swimming is permitted, so exercising caution and checking with local authorities is advisable.
