** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Edineţ (Romanian: Edineţ) has several small rivers, ponds and man-made reservoirs whose temperatures vary strongly with the seasons. In winter surface waters approach freezing, typically 0 to 4 °C (32 to 39 °F) and often freeze over for periods; spring thaw brings temperatures up to roughly 4 to 12 °C (39 to 54 °F). In summer shallow lakes and ponds commonly warm to about 20 to 26 °C (68 to 79 °F), while flowing rivers remain a few degrees cooler, roughly 18 to 22 °C (64 to 72 °F). Autumn sees progressive cooling, with many water bodies falling into the 8 to 15 °C (46 to 59 °F) range before ice forms again.
Swimming in Edineţ is largely a seasonal, informal activity rather than a heavily regulated municipal service. During warm months people do swim in suitable ponds and reservoirs, but official beach infrastructure and continuous water-quality monitoring are limited; therefore local authorities or landowners may restrict access at some sites. Safety considerations such as sudden depth changes, underwater vegetation, occasional algal growth, variable currents in streams, absence of lifeguards, and thin ice in winter make caution advisable. Ice swimming and unmonitored winter bathing are discouraged because of hypothermia and ice-break hazards.
