Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Geretsried is a city in Bavaria, Germany, situated along the southern banks of the Isar River. Despite being the largest town in the district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, it only became a town in the 1970s. As such, it offers a newer, more modern charm compared to other older Bavarian towns. The Isar River provides a significant natural element to this city, enhancing its picturesque quality along with recreational opportunities.
The temperature of the Isar River is usually quite chilly as it gets its water from the German Alps. It can range from around 4-5 degrees Celsius during the winter to about 18-20 degrees Celsius in the summer. However, temperature can vary based on weather, the amount of snowmelt, and time of year. Despite its cool temperatures, the Isar River has quite a few spots that are popular for swimming during the summer months when weather is warmer. Local inhabitants and tourists often enjoy dips in the Isar, while others partake in activities such as fishing, canoeing, or simply enjoying the river. Nevertheless, it's important to only swim in designated safe zones, as the river's currents can be strong.
