*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Dinard, a coastal town in Brittany, is located along the Rance River where it meets the English Channel. Known for its beautiful beaches and scenic views, Dinard is a popular destination for tourists seeking to enjoy the sea. The Rance River itself is not typically a place for swimming, as it is a tidal river with varying currents and water levels, but it does offer plenty of opportunities for other water activities such as kayaking and boat tours. Swimming in the river can be challenging due to the cool water temperatures and swift tides, especially in certain areas where the river meets the sea.
Water temperatures in Dinard, particularly along the Rance River and the nearby coastline, fluctuate throughout the year. During the summer months, from June to September, the sea and river temperatures rise, ranging from about 15°C to 18°C (59°F to 64°F). While this makes swimming in the sea more enjoyable, the conditions in the river may still not be ideal for swimming due to the strong currents. For safer and more enjoyable swimming experiences, the beaches of Dinard, including Plage de l'Écluse, are the more popular options. These sandy beaches offer calmer waters and are ideal for beachgoers and swimmers, especially when the weather is warm.
