*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Kyrönjoki River, located in South Ostrobothnia in western Finland, is one of the major rivers in the region, flowing through flat agricultural landscapes before reaching the Gulf of Bothnia. Its flow and temperature are influenced by seasonal changes and the surrounding terrain. After the ice melts in late April or early May, the water temperature is around 4–6 °C (39–43 °F). In early summer, the temperature rises to 13–16 °C (55–61 °F), and by July, during the warmest period, the river usually reaches 18–21 °C (64–70 °F). In shallow or slow-flowing sections, the water can occasionally exceed 22 °C (72 °F). By late September, it cools below 10 °C (50 °F), and freezing conditions return in November.
Swimming in the Kyrönjoki River is allowed but generally practiced in calm, designated spots where the current is mild. The water quality varies depending on rainfall and agricultural runoff but is typically acceptable for bathing in summer. Many locals swim in the quieter stretches of the river near small towns and villages. During the peak summer months, the moderate warmth and calm waters offer pleasant swimming opportunities, though caution is recommended due to variable flow rates in different sections.
